FIG. 05 — OPERATOR PROFILE
WHO RUNS HEXCORELABS.
HexcoreLabs is a solo project run by Dominik Pastorek, based in Prague, Czech Republic — built from a homelab up to a real autonomous system.
The Story
How a homelab became an autonomous system.
It started the way these things do — as a homelab. A couple of servers, some switches, a lot of reading about BGP, and a growing suspicion that you only truly understand something when you've debugged it at 2am. Over time that homelab became AS210915: a real autonomous system, real IP space, real transit customers.
The name comes from a belief that infrastructure should be understood at the fundamental level — hex, bits, packets, routing tables. Not abstracted away through managed services and wizard-driven setups, but built, configured, and debugged by someone who knows what's happening at every layer.
HexcoreLabs offers services to others partly because it makes the operation sustainable, and partly because running infrastructure for real workloads keeps it honest. Theory stays honest when traffic flows through it.
"You only truly understand something when you've debugged it at 2am."
